SoFi raises its outlook after revenue and membership climb
Quarterly net income reaches $241 million, and the company puts its 2026 adjusted revenue forecast at $5.04 billion.
SoFi Technologies raised its full-year outlook after third-quarter net revenue rose 44% to about $1.39 billion. The financial-services company reported net income of $241 million, compared with $139.4 million a year earlier, and diluted earnings of 18 cents a share.
The company now expects approximately $5.04 billion of adjusted net revenue in 2026, up from its earlier range of $4.75 billion to $4.85 billion. Its outlook calls for adjusted earnings of 61 cents a share. For 2027, SoFi introduced a forecast of about $6.4 billion in adjusted net revenue and adjusted earnings of 90 cents a share.
Membership reached 17.1 million, up 35% from a year earlier, after a record 1.2 million additions during the quarter. Loan originations totaled $16.9 billion. The membership count measures customers; originations measure new lending activity, not revenue or profit.
Fee-based revenue reached $570.6 million, equal to 42% of total revenue. That gives readers another measure to watch alongside loan growth. The company is generating fees as well as interest income, and the mix matters when judging how growth turns into earnings.
The distinction between results and forecasts matters here. The third-quarter figures describe a completed period. The 2026 and 2027 outlooks are management expectations, and the adjusted measures are not identical to net income under standard accounting rules. A higher forecast is a stronger target, not a guarantee that the company will meet it.
