Crude: Brent settles north of $116, a six-month high

Brent crude settled just above $116 a barrel, its highest since late April, and U.S. crude topped $103 - with Brent up about 6% on the week - as attacks on Saudi Arabia and expected U.S. strikes on Iran fed supply fears. See our oil story and the Dusk Ledger.

Chain: bitcoin holds near $81,600

Bitcoin traded near $81,300 late Friday, little changed on the day, after sliding below $82,000 during Thursday's selloff. Levels vary by source and time of day.

Chips: a modest rebound attempt

The semiconductor index rose about 1% a day after its worst drop since June, with Nvidia and AMD closing mixed. SK Hynix pulled the planned U.S. listing of its memory-chip unit Solidigm, a sign of stress in the AI trade. See our markets story.
