Crude: Brent settles up 4% at $113.17

Brent settled up 4% at $113.17 a barrel, its highest since May, after more Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia and Iran's claim that seven tankers were damaged in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. crude traded near $99, up about 2%. See our Brent story.

Chain: bitcoin slumps below $82,000

Bitcoin fell about 3% to near $81,400 as the AI stock selloff and rising oil prices pushed investors out of risk assets.

Chips: chip index sinks more than 6%

The main chip index fell more than 6%, with Nvidia and Intel among the big AI names selling off and data-center provider CoreWeave down 10%. See our midday market story and the Dusk Ledger.
